Elevating ‘room at the inn’ to new levels of elegance, our new Lister Farmhouse is a collection of 13 charming bedrooms in a historic building in the centre of Malham. We’ve carefully restored a Victorian coaching inn built by landowner, MP and philanthropist Walter Morrison to create spacious, individually styled rooms where modern luxury meets country-house ease.

Back in the 19th century, when the walkers who came to relax here included the nature-loving art critic and social thinker John Ruskin, this building stood apart from the older vernacular architecture thanks to its steeply pitched roof and stone-mullioned windows. Today, those windows come with deep-cushioned window seats that invite you to perch with a freshly brewed coffee, peer out over the dale and decide which direction to wander in (or celebrate your step count with a glass of Champagne…) Head to The Lister Arms for dinner and breakfast – and don’t be surprised if the two-minute potter across the packhorse bridge to our restaurant becomes your favourite walk of all.
